From and To, by Thomas D. Jones6/16/2023 The sun slants a shadow on the side of the house
the shadows of my life loom large the people whom I met follow me though long since gone from my world the days taken up going and coming from a job going back and forth sorting out lives in the mail. The shapes of shadows change angles from slant to straight the times when I was a child walking in the summer grass my feet cooler with each step trying to walk tall, keep my head above the rest of creation. Still it moves, the moment from shadow to shadow when we discover how, indifferent, the katydid or lightning bug goes on without us.
