Age Old Argument, by Thomas D. Jones2/18/2023 As a youth
I rode my bike in the morning to the outskirts of town closed my eyes listened to pigeons cooing. Years later I get on my bike to go to the park in the morning still hear my beloved snoring see a flock of pigeons clear a path before me before I die.

Love Language, by Thomas D. Jones2/10/2023 I go to work each day to teach
a way to speak, to listen, and to read the signs and symbols of a world where people young and old alike struggle with a language of their own. Like them, I often find myself alone in my life where love’s a void without touch from man or woman, the language never tried nor true, its practice never acted out on stage. It’s difficult to read the signs, no doubt, that speak of bonds between two souls because I never took a course in passion, never found the time to work for love, but stayed at home and studied solitude. And now the mass of stars and planets spin round and round with no consolation. The many constellations grow no love nor give the hungry soul satisfaction. Thus life continues in an empty fashion. Death will do its part to keep a wall between the fate of one man at a table and the person soon to be his partner: man or woman, it makes no difference when the body turns to dust and ashes. From "Voices from the Void," 2019 I Said to Love, by Thomas Hardy2/10/2023 "It is not now as in old days
When men adored thee and thy ways All else above; Named thee the Boy, the Bright, the One Who spread a heaven beneath the sun," I said to Love. I said to him, "We now know more of thee than then; We were but weak in judgment when, With hearts abrim, We clamoured thee that thou would'st please Inflict on us thine agonies," I said to him. I said to Love, "Thou art not young, thou art not fair, No faery darts, no cherub air, Nor swan, nor dove Are thine; but features pitiless, And iron daggers of distress," I said to Love. "Depart then, Love! . . . - Man's race shall end, dost threaten thou? The age to come the man of now Know nothing of? - We fear not such a threat from thee; We are too old in apathy! Mankind shall cease.--So let it be," I said to Love. From POETRY NOOK Thomas D.
